Payment & Fees
As a top-rated psychiatrist in St. Louis, Dr. Bosch strives to provide the highest quality psychiatric care for her patients. Clear communication and transparency are key to achieving this goal. Please review the information provided here and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Insurance
Working with insurance companies presents significant challenges. In order to facilitate the physician-patient relationship that is so necessary in mental health care, Dr. Bosch has opted to be an out-of-network provider. This allows her to focus on providing the highest quality psychiatric services, free from the limitations and restrictions of insurance policies.
If you would like to use insurance to cover a portion of the cost for treatment, Dr. Bosch is happy to provide a detailed receipt, or “superbill”, that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. To request a superbill, contact Dr. Bosch via the patient portal.
Rates & Fees
As of July 2024, fees for Dr. Bosch's psychiatric services are as follows:
Initial Consultation (60 minutes)..................$400
Typical Follow-Up (<30 minutes).................$200
Intermediate Follow-Up (31-45 minutes).....$300
Long Follow-Up (>46 minutes).....................$400
On occasion, the nature of mental health care requires that administrative work be done outside of scheduled appointment times. This may include tasks such as making phone calls to you, your friends and family, or other health care providers, responding to emails or direct messages, making photocopies, sending faxes, preparing documents for a third party (attorney, employer, landlord, etc.), or obtaining prior authoritization for a medication or treatment. Should a task take up a significant amount of time (ten minutes or more), this time will be billed at a rate of $400 per hour.
Dr. Bosch practices patient-centered psychiatric care. You can rest assured that she will always provide a time estimate and seek permission before performing any services that will generate a bill. Additionally, you will never be billed for phone calls related to scheduling, billing, or other non-clinical questions.
Payment
To ensure that your appointment goes as smoothly and efficiently as possible, Dr. Bosch requests that you have either a credit card or HSA/FSA card on file with the clinic prior to scheduling. All information is securely stored in the payment processor utilized by Dr. Bosch, and she does not hold this information directly.
Your selected form of payment will be charged at the time of your appointment.
Cancellation Policy
Recognizing that time is a valuable resource for both physicians and patients, Dr. Bosch does her best to be on time for every appointment. She kindly asks her patients to do the same.
That being said, Dr. Bosch understands that plans change and circumstances happen that are outside of your control. With that in mind, she offers a no-charge cancellation policy for appointments that are cancelled more than 24 hours in advance. In addition, she provides one late-cancel pass per year for emergencies or sickness. Please call or message the office on the morning of your appointment to have your fee waived. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance may be subject to a charge of 50% of the regular appointment fee.
If you need to cancel, please notify the office as soon as possible so that your appointment can be rescheduled and Dr. Bosch can accommodate other patients in need of skilled psychiatric care.
In the event that you miss an appointment or arrive more than ten minutes late, please note that your selected form of payment will be charged the full amount as a regularly scheduled appointment.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Practice Policies
Because the physician-patient relationship is built on trust, Dr. Bosch takes the privacy and security of her patients very seriously, requiring consent when booking an appointment. Please note that by using her psychiatric services, you agree to her terms and conditions.
Here you will find a brief summary of Dr. Bosch’s office policies. When you book your appointment, you will be provided with a more detailed version, and you may request another copy at any time. To ensure that you and Dr. Bosch are on the same page, she asks that you thoroughly review all of the documentation. Should you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Consent for Treatment
In order to get to know her patients and thoroughly understand their mental health needs, Dr. Bosch requires that all new patients undergo an initial evaluation. Please know that this evaluation serves as a consultation only. It’s imperative that you feel completely comfortable with your psychiatrist, so once the evaluation is complete, you and Dr. Bosch will decide together if a therapeutic relationship will be established.
In some cases, patients may decide to seek treatment elsewhere or the physician may feel that the patient’s needs will be best met by another provider or in a different treatment setting. Should this occur, Dr. Bosch is happy to provide a referral to another trusted mental health professional.
Appointments
As one of the best psychiatrists in St. Louis, Dr. Bosch prioritizes patient-centered care. Thus, appointment frequency will vary based on each patient’s individual needs. Typically, patients will see Dr. Bosch more frequently when they begin psychiatric treatment, with appointments becoming less frequent as their mental health improves.
To ensure that you receive the best care possible, Dr. Bosch strongly recommends that you schedule an appointment at least every three months. This will allow her to appropriately monitor your mental health and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan in a timely fashion.
Telehealth Appointments
Currently, Dr. Bosch is licensed to practice medicine in Missouri and Illinois. Thus, by law, patients must be physically located in these states to receive telehealth care from her. At the start of your telehealth appointment, Dr. Bosch will ask where you are located. Unfortunately, if you are located outside of Missouri or Illinois at the time of your appointment, your appointment will need to be cancelled, and you will be responsible for the full appointment fee.
For more information on payment and fees, please refer to the payment and fees section for more information.
Written Communication
As a compassionate mental health provider, Dr. Bosch is committed to serving her patients. To that end, she utilizes a patient portal to address between-visit questions and needs as they arise.
In the event of an emergency or a situation in which you or another person are in danger, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Refill Requests
Dr. Bosch kindly asks that you make refill requests at least one week in advance. For controlled-substance refills, dose adjustments, or medication changes, you will need to make an appointment.
Controlled Substances
To protect the safety and well-being of both patients and physicians and to prevent the misuse or abuse of controlled substances, federal law places certain restrictions on the prescription of controlled medications.
If you are prescribed a controlled medication, you will be required to see Dr. Bosch in person at a minimum of every three months. In-person appointments are also obligatory for medication refills and dose adjustments. During the course of your treatment, you may be required to undergo toxicology screens.
Unfortunately, early refills for controlled substances are not allowed, even if the medication is lost or stolen.
Payment & Fees
Dr. Bosch understands that cost can be a major factor for some patients seeking psychiatric care, so she always strives to be transparent regarding appointment fees. Her fees are not conditional and cover the time and expertise required to provide a thorough assessment and personalized treatment plan for your mental health needs. If you ultimately decide to pursue psychiatric treatment elsewhere, you will still be responsible for the cost of the care received from Dr. Bosch.
For more information on payment and fees, please refer to the payment and fees section for further information.
Cancellations & Missed Appointments
Time is a valuable resource for both patients and physicians. With this in mind, Dr. Bosch respectfully requests that you arrive on time for your appointments.
If you arrive late to your treatment session, please note that you will still be charged for the cost of a full appointment. To ensure continuity of care, Dr. Bosch is happy to meet with you for the remainder of your scheduled time.
Missed appointments will be charged the full fee to the payment method on file with the clinic. Please note that a telehealth appointment during which the patient is physically located outside of either Missouri or Illinois will be cancelled and treated as a missed appointment.
Dr. Bosch understands that sometimes life circumstances necessitate appointment cancellations. Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance will not incur a fee. In addition, she offers one late-cancel pass per year to accommodate emergencies and illness. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will incur a fee of 50% of the regular appointment rate.
Confidentiality
Due to the confidential nature of mental health care, all protected health information will be kept private and stored on secure servers within Dr. Bosch’s electronic medical record system. This information will not be shared with any third parties unless a patient has given explicit written permission.
In rare cases, physicians are required by law to share protected health information. Here are two examples:
– The physician believes a patient is in imminent danger of harming themselves or someone else.
– The physician believes a vulnerable individual (a child or an elderly person, for example) is being subjected to abuse or neglect.
If you have any questions about confidentiality, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Dr. Bosch.
